Terms of service
Last updated 17 July 2026
The deal in one sentence: you save your things, they stay yours, we keep the service honest — and you don’t use it to hurt anyone. The rest is that sentence, spelled out.
The service
Coolbar (run from coolbar.com) stores what you choose to save — pages, files, notes, conversations — and lets you search and ask questions over it. Some features use AI models to summarise, transcribe, and answer; AI output can be wrong, and answers are drawn from what you saved, so treat them as recall, not advice.
Your account
- You need to be at least 16, and you’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- Keep your access token and save-by-email address private — anyone holding them can read and add to your memory. Both are rotatable in settings.
- Plan limits (saves, questions, storage) are enforced per calendar month.
Your content
- It stays yours. Saving something grants us only the licence needed to store, process, and show it back to you — nothing more. We don’t sell it or train models on it.
- You can export everything as JSON and delete any memory — or the whole account — yourself, at any time, from settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
- Share links (
/s/…,/a/…) make that content readable by anyone with the URL until you revoke it. Only share what you’re comfortable publishing. - Save things you have the right to save. Personal-use copies of articles and pages are what the service is for; mass redistribution of others’ paywalled work is not.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Coolbar to store or share illegal content, to harass or harm people, to spam, to probe or overload the service, or to resell access. We can suspend accounts that do — with notice and your export available, except where the abuse forces our hand.
Payment
- The free plan is free. Pro is billed monthly through Stripe and cancellable any time from the billing portal — cancellation stops future charges and Pro lasts until the paid period ends.
- If a charge fails repeatedly your account drops to the free plan; nothing is deleted.
The honest fine print
- Coolbar is provided as is. It’s an early product run by a small team on our own infrastructure; we work to keep it up and your data safe, but we can’t promise zero downtime or zero bugs, and our liability is capped at what you’ve paid us in the last 12 months.
- We may change these terms; material changes get announced (on the site, or by email once you have a verified address) before they take effect. Continuing to use Coolbar after that is acceptance.
- If something here has to be tested in court, it’s under the laws of the United States, and if one clause fails the rest stand.
